In the latest Model S, the front axle motor has been upgraded to a permanent magnet motor, which Tesla promises will improve the car’s range by up to more than 10 percent. The Long Range Model S has a WLTP range of up to 610 kilometres on a single charge.

The fully adjustable chassis now adapts to the driver’s driving style and the car’s sensors adjust accordingly. The chassis height is now adjusted according to the type of chassis, not just the speed of the vehicle.

Updates to Tesla models are made wirelessly to the car via the internet. The latest free updates for the entire Tesla line-up in 2019 include Sentry Mode, On-Route Battery Warm Up and Dog Mode.

Sentry Mode provides additional protection against theft and vandalism by monitoring the environment with in-car cameras while the car is parked. On-Route Battery Warm Up, as the name suggests, pre-heats the car’s battery while the car navigates to the Tesla Supercharger. This saves an average of 25% in charging time, as the battery is already at the right temperature to receive the charging current when it arrives at the charging station.

Dog Mode, as the name suggests, takes care of the furriest members of the family by keeping the car air conditioned while parked.

As a car manufacturer, Tesla is very much ahead of other manufacturers in many areas. Practicality seems to be one of the most important things, without forgetting performance.

The Tesla Model S Long Range offers excellent drivability combined with practical and spacious interiors, while offering the best range on the market on a single charge.

What is the range of the Tesla Model S Long Range?

The Tesla Model S Long Range offers up to 610 km on a single charge according to WLTP testing, thanks to its 100 kWh battery (95 kWh usable). A new permanent magnet motor on the front axle improved range by more than 10 percent over previous versions.

How long does the Tesla Model S Long Range take to charge?

The Tesla Model S Long Range supports DC fast charging at up to 250 kW at a Tesla Supercharger V3, allowing the battery to be topped up from around 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 to 40 minutes. On an 11 kW home AC wallbox, a full charge from low takes around 9 to 10 hours overnight.

How much does the Tesla Model S Long Range cost in Europe?
