The T-Roc, which shares the same platform with the Volkswagen Golf, is positioned between the T-Cross and Tiguan models in Volkswagen’s range.
The T-Roc offers quite reasonable space for four adults, five if necessary. The raised chassis and ground clearance make it easy to get into the car. Luggage space is 445 litres in front-wheel-drive models and 392 litres in four-wheel-drive models.

The engine range is quite comprehensive. Petrol engines are available in 1.0 and 1.5-litre variants. Diesel engines are available in 1.6 and 2.0-litre versions. The cherry on the cake is a test-driven R model with a two-litre four-cylinder power pack.
The most powerful of the T-Roc R models is sporty on the outside, without being too conspicuous – in a childish way. The interplay of engine, chassis and steering provides plenty of driving pleasure on well-maintained bends.

The chassis positively surprises the driver time after time, keeping the ride stable in corners even at higher speeds. For everyday driving, the car also has a quiet character, especially in the Comfort setting. The chassis’s snappiness may be more of a problem for those driving on cobblestones or poorer surfaces in the city.
Power and good handling come at a price. In addition to the high starting price of the R model, fuel consumption in mixed driving is inevitably between 8 and 10 litres per 100 kilometres.
